I can't decide if I like it (it's Lotus' 2015 nose prototype).

No more double-penetrating dildos? I like that.

It doesn't look like a dick so it's okay.

I like it a lot better than the penis nose and the high noses from a couple years ago

Looks like a cross between Ferrari's F-14T and the old 2013 noses

The technical regulations basically mandate the W05/Ferrari-style nose. The noses will be more similar to the F14T's than the W05's.
Here's a rendering from MCDesign that fits the regulations. It's maybe a little stylized, but F1Technical forum nerds seem to think that it's pretty realistic.

They tested it at FP1 at the USGP. There's no winter testing anymore. I believe they also took it to a couple other race weekends. It's just the vanity panels of the prototype slapped onto the 2014 crash structure so the part didn't deliver massive performance, but they claim that it went very well. Right, Lotus. Right.

Ahhh got it. That makes sense. I mean the dildo noses were kinda just exploiting a loophole and trying to stay as close to old aero anyway, so it makes sense to push everyone to think like Merc and Ferrari who were a little more creative.
Still looks like it got sat on by a mastodon though.

That's a wonderful description! I wish that some team would make a twin-tusk design that's super efficient. It's just different, and F1 needs some more variety (IMO). Oh, and F1 also needs not the dildo noses.
